Today I will introduce to everyone about our Northwest Thai culture that is Keng Long’s custom, Keng Long is a Thai language that means knock on the pestle.

Pestle is a tool used to pound rice, pound rice of the Thai people, after each harvest they bring rice to the trough and move the rice out, the longer the trough is used, the more sound will be made Or, since then, Thai people use rice troughs to pound rice to make musical instruments during festivals and holidays.

Keng Long is holding a pestle to knock against the wall of the chute or stab into the gut of the gutters to create strong and resonant sounds. Keng Long is considered to be a musical instrument showing a high collective character, requiring the members to coordinate skillfully and smoothly.
